Who are The Dudz?
The DUDZ live in a strangely CHAOTIC world. A world of TRANSGRESSION.
Brutally erupting from the unscrollings of our darkest dreams, they are born of the encounter of Urban Art & D.I.Y way of life.
A melding of imagination and cool, the DUDZ incarnate this contemporary UNDERGROUND Culture in trashy, cynical and disjointed dramas.
Embodiments of the INEXPRESSIBLE, the DUDZ mean to provoke.
With their broken noses, piercings, leers and comical malformations, these terrible children reveal a reality we are reluctant to face: that of DIFFERENCE.
And its terrific RICHNESS…
Tribute from an American poet
By C.K. Williams (2013)
(Member of American Academy of Arts and Letters - Pulitzer price of poetry)
Art is always finding ways to expand its boundaries, to enlarge its possibilities, to test its limits.
Sometimes though the way art objects, conceptions of art, the definitions of art seem to lurch, to crash against its most basic assumptions, of beauty, of philosophy, of the movements and potential movements of emotion and thought.
Thus the Dudz, which in their wild aggressiveness, their recuperations of various elements of popular and museum culture, generate new imagery, new notions of human aspiration, new imaginings of what the humanbody is, of how it can be clothed, and shaped, and simply seen.
As though evolution itself had taken some mad leappast the known into the horrifyingly inconceivable.
Beware: they’re with us now, the Dudz.
Bravo!
